what backyard 2/4/2011

Well, I would love to tell you about my yard but as of a few days ago it has been absorbed by a Siberian Clipper. There are drifts that change like desert sand dunes. The paths we had to shovel for our confused dog are non-existant now. His attempts to chase the Siberian Squirrels are literally bogged down by white sandtraps. One misstep and down he sinks. Getting to the bird feeders takes sherpa guides and Edmond Hillary climbing experience. We've had to hold up in the windows our stymied cats to be shown that the yard (their birdTV entertainment and not visible due to those 4-5 foot drifts) still exists. Clearing the front walkway and driveway took about 3 hours. Our poor snowblower lost a wheel about 3/4 of the way down the driveway and still we had been shoveling in tandem with that effort. I know that most of the midwest is in the same boat. I usually love snow, just in smaller doses. Oh well, our kids will have a good one to tell to their offspring and it did get me 2 and a half days off with pay.
